We can strive to be informed, questioning everything, and sharing those ideas with others. We can become involved locally, nationally, or globally. We can fact check ideas, and pose civil discourse. We can challenge current paradigms, even (if not especially) those we believe in. Should anything super severe happen in our lifetimes (financial collapse, global martial law, use of nuclear weapons or worse) we should be prepared to lead rational discourse as to proposed solutions. Should nothing ever change from the way it is today, we should continue to hold those in control to a rigid standard.

Honestly, posing questions like this is one of the best things that we can do. Many people shy away from these topics because they are afraid that if they are true they wouldn't know what to do or how to handle it, most falling into the mindset that there's nothing they can even do. Posing these questions can disarm the fear that goes with the ideas and turn it into a power to lead change instead of a fear of how others will.
