I was doing at little digging with the upside down stars in the Republican logo and found this site:
It claimed that Jeb Bush was standing in front of a flag with the stars turned upside down. I've managed to track down the original source and I've found that those stars appear to be normal side up. I don't really like Jeb, but I thought I should document this before sources disappear.
The original photographer is David Goldman.
The whole collection is here: [LINK](http://www.apimages.com/Collection/Landing/Jeb-Bush-GOP-2016/e4717ba6241a4067a6674ed7e8a563d3/2)
This is the photograph in question: [PHOTO](http://www.apimages.com/metadata/Index/GOP-2016-Bush-Fact-Check/f007060ff10b4979b0e8219d72263b8e/1/1)
These are two other photos which show the flag and context more clearly: [PHOTO1](http://www.apimages.com/metadata/Index/GOP-2016-Bush/facb159b127141a2932a5257ce429483/92/1), [PHOTO2](http://www.apimages.com/metadata/Index/GOP-2016-Bush/d0fa22d3dc2a4100b8a4d7360bd6b96e/95/1)
I haven't been able to disprove the Hillary 2008 photo though.

I work with stars quite frequently working on customers signs and banners. It's very easy to turn a star a few degrees and it becomes an upside down star. The designer sees it as a slightly rotated star as they know which point was originally the top most point. I've done it on accident a few times with the customer requesting I change it. So I can see how it's possible, but also these people do a lot of research when building these logos. Also doesn't explain the flags at all unless they were photoshopped.

Holy crap, the GOP elephant's stars are indeed inverted. What the heck.
