Give these a good read: http://oll.libertyfund.org/pages/1787-selections-from-the-federalist-pamphlets

**1787: Selections from the Federalist (Pamphlets) **

Read No. 10 by James Madison

Also keep in mind there is NOT ONE MENTION of democracy in the constitution. Yet they mention Republic a few times. So yes they established a Republic. You guys can try to change facts and definitions all you want but there is a difference and the Constitution created a Republic.

I think we are in a corrupt system like Oligarchy now. But the Constitution is clear. And if you read the writings of the people who wrote the Constitution they tell you in their own words the differences of a Republic VS a democracy. Why would James Madison write about the differences if there were none? Do you think he was just making up stuff?

I think it most important to contrast the major differences between today's world and 1787's world.

No Internet

The time required to travel from point a to point b has been eliminated in regards to having a need for a centralized anything. Why do we spend money flying people all over the US to go be in Washington when it could all be done digitally? Because its more efficient? Or because it allows unbridled corruption to flourish?

Corporations were not People

Money was not speech

Industrial Age (OIL)

The "New Deal" Power of the Bank(Fed) to make magic money

DoD, its very existence has Nukes and the Internet on its resume, such was their need and ability to get shit done. But neither are good for profit, Digital shit isn't a commodity and Nukes cost money to maintain but can never be used or sold. So what can we do, embrace the MIC and leave it for the next generation to figure out...

The only possible way to discuss the basics of government ruling our lands will also requiring defeating those in power through a civil war or revolution. As those with the power and money to raise an army have done throughout history to maintain their power until it collapses in on itself or is overthrown.
