It's not even a conspiracy, there's more than enough evidence it was a fabrication. The evidence was compiled not too soon after the event as details and entire sections on the plot were found to be hidden or just plain non-existent. This is the reason bills are coming in to control the internet, it makes it much harder to pull off these kinds of things when a few hundred people can casually collaborate and pick apart a situation like this in a matter of hours, and completely prove it's falsehood within a few weeks.
It would be harder to fake than to engineer. One of the aspects I keep stumbling over is that this would have been much easier to achieve if the - for lack of better word - "shadow government" had just committed a real mass murder and dumped the corpse of a dead autist in front of the school.
They're amoral enough to be capable of it, and then be able to go for drive-thru after.
These are the type of people who suggested sinking one of their own ships, killing hundreds if not thousands of their own sailors, and then blaming it on Castro.
Most people have simply not looked into it at all. The fact is that an incident involving the murder of dozens of small kids is just too horrifying for most people to want to think about. That, of course, is why this particular storyline was used.
Something has to make people look into it and question. Once they do that they'll find that there's pretty much zero evidence that it actually occurred. This is remarkable!
Because the media is great at making out conspiracy theorists as crazy assholes who are spitting on the graves of children. People are still too afraid to speak their mind on issues.
Not saying it wasn't a hoax, and I tend to believe that it was, especially considering the law change allowing govt propaganda to be passed off as news, but the whole media is in on it? No journalist wants to make a name for themselves by blowing it up? Seems crazy

I whole heartedly would want this to happen, but the issue is it would fall on deaf ears because he would be dismissed as some conspiracy nutter. Mass media can destroy anyones credibility as well, so not only are you dismissed, but anything you reported on from that point forward would never see the light of day.

the idea isn't to make an airtight conspiracy. the idea is to make the truth implausible to the audience.
