Greece is just a proof of concept to test what is about to come for the rest of western society. The real question is why haven't they started a revolution to hunt down their oppressors and slave masters yet?
Kind of the opposite problem in play here. The people of Greece did this shit to themselves.
They kept electing whoever was promising to give them more money and time off, even after it was clear that those policies were going to result in the complete financial collapse of the country. Hell, even after the financial collapse started, they had a referendum vote that basically fully supported the government's actions.
Greece, collectively was/is the EUs problem welfare recipient. They just thought the rest of the EU would keep giving them money till the end of time, so there was no reason to actually get their shit in order.
It's funny how the same people keep popping up seemingly just by coincidence.
Like how Goldman Sachs was one of the companies that did the auditing for Greece that said they were fit (i.e. sufficiently wealthy) to join the European Union.
And like how a certain Mario Draghi was in charge of a part of this audit; who then becomes Chairman of the ECB who are one organisation that lends the money to Greece in order for them to pay their spiralling debts which are only increasing all the time because they are being lent this money.
Remembering that the IMF is also implicit in this usury of an entire nation; maybe with the 'honest' belief that a large golden asteroid will land itself in the vaults of the National Bank of Greece by chance so that the debts can be paid off some day.
Of course the Greek politicians and business leaders have to share some of the blame in the lead-up to all this, but it shouldn't be them alone facing public scrutiny for news presaging further economic pillaging of the Greek people.
Yeah right. And the institutions lending their government money at usury level interest, even as the lenders didn't actually have the assets to cover the costs of the loans they were making are not blameless. The right thing to do would be to write off the debt and start back at ground zero, but instead the idiot lenders push the world towards mutually assured destruction- believing falsely that they would somehow be excluded from that destruction.

Over 90% of the Greek debt is bailout monies. They should walk away from the demands of JP Morgan and Sacks.
The social spending is/was not the issue.

Every socialist movement ends up in violence and mass murder.
