The Nazi party gained a lot of traction through rebuilding the economy of Germany and using Jews as scapegoats, but later turned to fear and coercion.
Living in Germany at the time meant you either supported the Nazi party or were arrested and possibly killed. Joining the Hitler Youth was effectively mandatory.
It was hardly the German population "blindly" following the leader. I would say they were more tricked, then forced into it.
I don't have any information for your other points, just want to say that drawing a parallel to the Nazi party isnt necessarily the most accurate one.

They tried a communist revolution after WW1, the people weren't tricked, they were aware of a problem.
