In response to your title: Einsten believed that black holes can't exist and he wrote a pretty lousy paper about it. He was definitely smarter than me, though. Should I believe in black holes or not?
A lot of his theories have been refuted. Even in his own lifetime by people smarter than him, yet he's the only one that gets any media attention. I wonder why that is?
What did you guys do today? I improved some cryptographic software. It's quite small in the big picture but at least I can say I'm seeing the ball head in the right direction even if its a 100 ball game and most of them are going the wrong way. At least I have my hand on one of the balls and it's going where it should.
Edit: You know what, link. It's not near ready but if you want to look at it you can. Standard ./configure; make; make install on linux. I need help figuring out how to make the subtle differences needed for windows happen from the config script. The differences needed are almost non-existent. If you have windows you can get it to run for almost the same amount of work. Just look in the configure to find the dependencies and then run nw from src and that should work too.

I must say, after reading the above, no amount of protesting will change things anymore -- as much as I hate to admit it.
Let me ask you, what happens when you corner an animal?
