Ukraine is a poor country and there isn't much there worth looting (especially when you consider that the US political establishment already has, and exercises, the ability to plunder the wealth of the American people). I think that the Ukrainian situation can best be understood as the latest step in a consistent policy of aggression and expansionism aimed against Russia.

The American regime has correctly identified Russia as the only state in the world capable of effectively resisting American domination. China is dependent on imported resources (particularly oil) and, without Russian help, could be forced into submission by the same kind of criminal "hunger blockade" that the British used against Germany in the First World War. Other states whose rulers are willing to resist US domination are too poor or too small. Besides, they lack nuclear weapons and thus the US could use its own nuclear weapons to massacre their civilian populations without fear of retaliation.
