Man, I have struggled with this too. The world is turning into a pretty fucked up place, and it gets easier to start thinking like this every year as it becomes more and more logically justifiable.

My best advice is to go make some friends. The way I see it, they won't come after you if they know there's a bunch of people who will look into it if you mysteriously disappear. And it's way easier to get paranoid when you're alone, so be alone less.

Also, remind yourself that you haven't actually done anything morally wrong, or even illegal [I'm assuming you haven't]. Talking shit about the government on the internet or disagreeing with the status quo aren't crimes [yet]. If you can't have faith in the rule of law, at least have faith that they won't do anything about it for fear of public outcry.

FInally, try to move into the farther out into the country, if you can. Big cities make me paranoid, and I'm assuming it's the same for other people. It makes sense, really. You have a lot more freedom out in the country, as less control by the government is needed to keep order. And being by the wilderness is reassuring, in an "I can always flee into it and never be seen again" sort of way.

I love the big city. Especially when you know the city better than you know yourself. Lock it down fuckers. I won't be locked in here with you...

"I can always flee into it and never be seen again"

This is why I live in AK.

If you flee into that wilderness at this time of year, the next person seeing you will be God

While a valid argument, it's not too difficult. My family winter camps all the time. It is a part of living here.

You are a family of hardcore mofos then, and my hat is off to you
