I'm curious as to what exactly the conspiracy part of this is? Nanotubes have been found in car exhaust and other breathable pollutants, so it makes sense that they might be in our lungs as well.
Maybe we could use the nanotubes as a resource to sustain nanites that we get annual shots and nanite levels testing done to sustain an unnaturally long life.
Was gonna not care but then I read the line relating it to asbestos and realized that, yeah, I can see nanotubes being harmful even if they are not all that reactive. Still, what are a few dead kids when we could have ultra durable materials, quantum computers, and space elevators.
