ummmm no the kind of rifles being talked about. a true 'assault rifle" is a full auto. cost: 35k The ones you by at the sporting goods stores are just plastic wrapped rifles to look like the auto ones. They are semi-auto.
You've never bought a gun in your life, have you? Semi-auto AKs are literally the same as a full-auto, with a slightly different receiver. They are old stock from Russia, not 'plastic wrapped rifles'.
Kalashnikovs grow on trees. The full-auto Pre-May-1986 configurations cost $15k at the MOST and you can get them anywhere in a $200 tax stamp state. They are cheap bullet-throwers, not at all accurate, and actually kind of shit. You can find them much cheaper if you know where to look.
AK-47s are also not the cheapest full-auto weapons you can buy. There are a few here and there that go for the 1-2 grand range.

You don't need to get one from the black market. $500-2500 at a sporting goods store.
