No shit. Once I was taught that the purpose of the media was "to educate and inform." Our modern media, however, are little more than sensationalist ratings whores and propaganda shills for any reporting beyond strictly local news. I cannot fathom true investigative reporting in the style of Woodward and Bernstein in the present era. The corporate media overlords wouldn't accept the liability (or tarnish) and the dullard sheeple would flip the channel to see who the Kardashians were screwing.
