This is very strange. My computer monitor came back on by itself in my room after I went to bed. This has never happened before. I remember very clearly, my mind went through these stages in quick succession as I was in the hypnogogic state between sleep and waking up.
"Wow it's really bright in the room. Is that real?"
"It is real. So what is happening?"
"Oh its the monitor."
"That is impossible."
These four thoughts came in that order in a fraction of a second.
I clearly remember turning it off as I always do. Yes, monitors go into sleep mode (but mine takes like 3 hours before it does that). But for conversation's sake, lets say my monitor was in sleep mode. What the heck woke it out of sleep mode? I have no cats or pets of any kind. Mouse clicks and keyboard presses wake the monitor.
That's what is creeping me out. Several people have reported this incident in my area. In order to turn on my tv, you have to use the remote or manually hit the button it. I don't have cats or children or anything like that.
Could be just a strange coincidence, but it felt weird.

Hmm, this may be ignorant, but I'm not sure how to answer this. If it shut off by itself, I wouldn't have worried. It was the fact that it turned on.
