While looking at a recent story about the former IMF head Dominique Strauss-Kahn I could not help but think about my own theory as to why he got set up and who he pissed off.

The rape charge happened soon after the movie Inside Job was released in theaters nationwide. In that movie DSK had a telling and interesting anecdote in one of his interviews in the movie. It was an interesting view of what was happening inside the proverbial Secret Temple. Here is the particular part of the interview in question that I have always maintained, since the very start, as a main reason he was set up the way he was. He said something he should not have shared, especially in a movie like Inside Job that was going to be released everywhere. I believe he made some very powerful people very pissed off and they decided to make him pay, much like Elliot Spitzer did as soon as he made it known he was going to be investigating the Wall Street Bankers..

I have to say that I am glad DSK is not just letting it go and he is going keep fighting. He didn't deserve to have his name smeared in the media like he did. At the same time, he obviously pissed someone off enough for an entire apparatus to be unleashed on him. I find the entire incident to be very revealing in a lot of interesting ways.
