I noticed a bit of a change after the /r/fatpeoplehate ban, but it didn't get really toxic until the /r/niggers ban. It brought an onslaught of extremely conservative right-wingers over, and they spilled over into a lot of the bigger subs and started aggressively downvoting everything that didn't fit their narrative and posting a lot of hate-filled shit. I don't think this was intentional on Voat's part, but an unfortunate consequence of Reddit's actions.
