Of course - only the NSA can have records of this sort. TPTB cannot have the common riff-raff having this sort of data.

I've never liked twitter. From far too early on in its existence it seemed the main focus was on being an advertising tool. It was never really about people, it's always been about selling you ideas, politicians and products.
Connotation intended.

With the side effect of giving activists a nice way of signing up on a list, while not really spreading information anywhere.
