May I ask what you feel is being stifled on /r/conspiracy?
We work quite hard to uphold the ethos of free flowing information that defines the sub.
Also, I am quite worried about this attempt top unseat the mod team here; as the way in which this sub is ran currently involves zero content moderation. It is truly the definition of a user curated space. Why would you wish to facilitate a new mod team which may threaten that?
I have absolutely no idea what is being stifled at r/conspiracy, which is kind of the point isn't it. As you are a moderator of 18 subs, most of which involve the discussion of conspiracy, you control a huge amount of access to information and informative discussion. As a site which in recent weeks has come under fire on multiple occasions for censorship and the deletion of critical posts, I think it's only natural for people, especially on a conspiracy forum, to question those that hold authority over them and their posts. So I've started this discussion to see if anyone else agrees that with a new site, new moderators should be chosen as part of the move away from reddit. I think the accusation of an attempted unseating is grossly misrepresenting what's going on here, we are trying to discuss the best course moving forward on this site and the discussion as you can see from the comments is very much open. I'm curious as to why it would be such a problem for you to step down as a moderator? You have 18 subs that you moderate on reddit, why the sudden concern for this place after months of inactivity?

Reddit has no doubt had a censorship problem for a very long time. And I do everything in my power to fight that censorship. For example, we constantly sticky posts in /r/conspiracy which expose censorship from around reddit, including the post which is currently stickied.
you control a huge amount of access to information and informative discussion.
If you were a bit more familiar with reddit, you would be aware that the moderator positions I hold are precisely because of my ardent defense of the free flow of information. There are numerous groups within the reddit meta who attempt to control huge amounts of subreddits in order to manipulate opinion and censor information, I am one of the few who actively opposes those type of groups and there are many long time users from /r/conspiracy who can vouch for me in this regard.

I visit voat at least once a day to keep an eye on this sub.
I actually outlined the reason I am concerned about changing up the mod team in a different post.
Because there is currently no log of moderator actions on voat, it is imperative that the mod team consist of users who are known for upholding the ethos of free speech and organically curated content which is constantly under attack on reddit. This is because there is currently no way for moderators on voat, on any subreddit, to keep track of the actions of other moderators. To that end, if /v/conspiracy is going to continue to be a forum wherein user voting and submission determine the content which is posted then having a mod team who can be trusted to uphold that ethos is essential.
By removing the current team and starting fresh, there is a huge possibility that a user with devious intentions would be able to get on the mod list and manipulate this forum sans any oversight from heir fellow mods.
Your underlying concern is completely understandable, without transparency this sub could be manipulated by a user with devious intentions. But that concern for transparency could be turned into a great feature of this site, there could be a complete log of all moderator actions for each sub so that the users can guard the guards and any questionable actions can be discussed in an open manner. I honestly can't tell if you're being disingenuous but prior to today (according to others who have posted on here) the only moderator who has been active on this sub in the past 3 months is PrivateJoker, so despite you saying you keep an eye on things every day, you have not actively contributed in 3 months, not even a post and although this may sound ironic coming from a day old user I think you should have had a more active role on here to truly be considered a moderator.
But my main concern is the fact that you are a reddit moderator for r/conspiracy which many consider to be full of shills, paid posters and covert manipulation. So even if you are a truly honest person who can be vouched for by other reddit users, you've been tarred with the same brush as reddit itself and therefore, at least in my eyes, cannot fully be trusted. This site in meant to be a fresh start and so in this case it seems prudent to throw the baby out with the bathwater, so to speak.
You are totally right about moderator transparency though, I can't emphasis enough how right you are about that and I'll be suggesting something to that effect in the voat discussion sub.
