Those are apparently fake, but in general vibrations make sound. Lots of things can cause vibration. If the vibrations are at the right frequency you'll have harmonic reinforcement that causes sound amplification.
For a concrete example, think of how you can make a similar sound by blowing over an open soda bottle. Now consider wind blowing over a cave entrance.
