There was a post about this a while back. I work in the food manufacturing so I shared a bit of info.

The fatter a person is, the more they crave fat and sugar as opposed to flavor variety. Profits are much higher when eating trends are stable. The Adkins diet cost the industry millions. Lines were shut down and companies went out of business. What's the solution? Get everyone to be fat, that way eating trends are more predictable. Very few corporations control most of the food so I wouldn't be surprised if some of them were funding fat acceptance.

I've also noticed some articles where click bait sites write about products.

This is probably just some hailcorporate style astroturf marketing but it's not far from astroturfing how people feel about food or it's potential effects.

Thank you for this valued information. I always loved watching Morgan Spurlock's "Supersize Me." It was well done as well, he doved into the part on how these few corporations, including McDonalds controlled their brands and their style of marketing to target children and adults alike.

Sugar yes, fat no. That was the point of Adkins, and Keto and every other low carb diet. It's amazing how much healthier you are by cutting out all bread, pasta, soda and candy. Bread is horrible for you in the amounts we eat today.

The industry was losing tons of money over the Adkins crave in the early 2000s. Sugar sales were falling. So what happened...Harpers published an article saying Adkins died of his own diet. It was false. (He slipped on some ice in a snow storm and cracked his skill open). They rededicated it the next issue, but the damage was done.

If you want to be healthy, you seriously should stop worrying about fat. It doesn't actually cause you to be fat. Low-carb, ignore-fat diets are extremely healthy. Look at /v/keto for more info.

He's probably right about the stability and predictability of fat people craving both carbs and fats. With a preponderance of simple carbs and fats in the diet, you'll experience the insulin spike/crash effect of the beetus while having enough mid-crash blood sugar from the fat to stay alert enough to think "Gawd I want some Reese's Pieces" and continue the updowns until you eat a pound of pasta and cheese sauce for dinner.

Complex carbs are also not evil in and of themselves. They are a great energy source. Sugar is pretty much worthless however. I eat a 40/30/30 carb/protein/fat split for maintenance and bulking. When I cut I do remove some carbs from my diet, but that is so I can get enough protein in a days worth of restricted calories.
You don't have to go full keto to lose weight. Mainly just eat less and move more.

You explained a lot... and documented the conspiracy element! Proud to read you!
