When I saw this thread on Reddit earlier I used it as an opportunity to plug Voat. These are the type of occurrences that are driving people away from Reddit and we have a chance to bring all of those people here. I encourage everyone to spread the word, so that the Voat community can grow and ideas can be expressed without blatant censorship.
Thanks for promoting Voat, I just joined up because of it. That place is just... fucking sinking. I still love the penpals subreddits, and any subreddit that's not related to the news or current internet politics, but this place looks way more manageable.
Yeah, I'm just hoping that we get to keep this place open and free for a while at the very least. I don't want to see it crash and burn. I don't even care if it gets as big as reddit frankly. Right now the smaller community is nice.
It will, if it takes off, or at least there is a very real possibility. But that's okay, code is open source.
The best we can hope for is administrators learning from the failures of the predecessors. This is the ebb and flow of the net if you will. Let's not get too worked up over myspace.
That being said, mobile app when. Voat is gonna go places.

100% agree. I've been doing on /r/undelete for weeks.
I don't think this site is the be all end all, but at this point anything is better than reddit when discussing politics and agendas.
