Fuck Conde Nast. Fuck Reddit. Fuck censorship. Fuck clueless mods. Fuck shadowbanning. Fuck being berated for telling the truth. Fuck that entire place now that Aaron Swartz is gone.
When they ask you why you are deleting BE SURE to tell them that you are leaving thanks to censorship--and, of course, that Reddit is now nothing but a JIDF-infested hasbara distribution outlet.
You can always visit. Fuck them, and fuck monetizing them.

it does nothing....reddit has 100's of subarchive host pages....google you handle name sometime without omissions....you see, everything you ever said is archived....if it was really good, sometimes it will end up as qoutes on other webcrawlers.... you make it sound like some weak attempt at covering your tracks will make you dissappear....it does not work that way....you do understand silverlight...?

You know what? Everything that I posted was true--although most was opinion, it was MY opinion. I regret nothing that I said, and none of it can be tracked (easily) to me. Even if it were I broke no US laws.
I guess that I'm saying that I'm not all that worried. But still, thanks for the information.

I'm not saying that you should have regrets, I'm just simply pointing out the fact that nothing that is done on the web is really "erased" and that most all "major" sites are in essence permanent "records" .and that "we" the people have very little or no control over content, even if it's our content...Besides, if you have a comupter with webcam and or an Iphone, they are collecting EVERYTHING you say and do within the range of said devices...Meaning they might not give a crap about you or what you think or do, but they are still recording ALL metadata, it just gets recorded and dumped.in your file....for example....if you are running a pc, you have what is called "silverlight" onboard.....basically go to your start button, type in "silverlight" and up will come a box that gives you options and shows those options, one is "webcam and mic"....YOU CAN NOT DISABLE THIS PROGRAM, YOU CAN DUMP IT, BUT ITS STILL THERE...`IT IS HARD WIRED INTO YOUR SYSTEM, AND mac HAS THEIR OWN VERSION...basically this is the 24/7 bug that watches you in your home...sure you can tape over the cam, but it's still recording all "noise" ....this program can be run with your computer in sleep/lid shut mode...whats really amazing is how sensitive both the mic and cam are...you can tape over the cam, but still see shape outlines, and the mic pics up small details....nsa punks use it to watch you masturbate

Trust me, I know, I know.
I am a network engineer (for a living--not to confuse...I'm a pilot also but that's totally a "free time" thing) so what you are saying rings very true.
I know all about Silverlight; this is why I use Linux (usually). Mostly every Reddit post that I have ever made has been from a non-Silverlight Ubuntu machine.
Let me tell you what I DID do with my Windows machine though...the webcam/mic is on a "daughtercard" in the lid. There is a ribbon cable that goes from this daughtercard to the motherboard. AS SOON AS I buy a new laptop it is disassembled and the ribbon cable is removed. Not unplugged, but removed.
Remember that FLASH does this also; not just Silverlight. I don't think that it's as bad as you say (yet) and here's why. I analyze EVERY packet that arrives at, and leaves, my house. I have a Linux machine that specifically does this (a packet sniffer basically--with detection/alerting algorithms). On my Windows machine (which DOES have Silverlight, btw), so far, there have been no system calls to the camera/mic, and no downstream data showing that video/audio is being transmitted. YET.
Then again, if they're being clever about it I suppose that this information could easily be disguised as TCP resends or packet headers.
My advice to you--run Linux! Ubuntu specifically. I can and will help you get it going...and then you have FULL control over your PC. There are WAAAY too many programmers with their fingers in the code for "them" to ever slip something like a "Silverlight" look-alike by. Trust me.
Thanks for the warning though...always good to know what the latest shit that they're up to is!
