That's because 95% of the drainbow family are fucking losers. The fact that it works that well within a community of unskilled leeches should tell you that it's awesome when practiced in a community of hard working, skilled, sustainably self sufficient individuals.
Ego shade isn't a term I'm familiar with, but I've found interactions with self sufficient people to be very productive and positive.
It can definitely be like herding cats at times, but that comes from the residual fear/competition of civilization though, and dissipates as natural lifestyles are practiced more.
The consequences to breaking Nature's rules are the same for everyone, and the fact that there is only one time proven way that humans can interact symbiotically with Nature for each bioregion means that once the humans in an area figure it out, Nature becomes the authority, and very little organization between humans is necessary to interact with it. I hope that makes sense. Text/language can be so "clunky".
Ive seen in certain specific areas of expertise that the people in the know look down on the people trying to learn and this makes it a hostile environment. They also either demean the entry level or they consistently talk about themselves or back in the days kinda crap. But i see/think what you're talking about is independent individuals making their land work for them. I was talking about coming together as a group to live off the earth naturally.
I'm talking about a mininalist nomadic life and guerilla permaculture, basically helping Nature retain water and build soil, which will produce more wild food. There's no reason to wait.
That's where I've had the best luck. The desert and elevation seem to be relatively decent shit people filters, other than the townies/tweakers that are just too dumb and broke to leave.
Im in the greater sedona area now for the winter and the amount of human trash is astounding. Its very disheartening to see just how fucked up the public is.
Ew Sedona. Watch out for the crystal crunchers. I'm not far away at all but I won't even drive through there. Seriously though, those ol ladies up there never pay for work they have done, so get cash up front whenever possible.
Well i use it as a reference point i wont step foot in that den of quackery. Im actually over by camp verde. Less spiritual idiots there more warm blooded americans.
I would love to find a town out here with great camping close by and a decent library at a decent elevation. Seems anything thats west of the Mississippi that fits this criteria is over run now.
Ive been to snowflake years ago. It didnt bother me. Mormons dont really bother me at all. They can be nosy but they got nothing on the Catholics. Might check out Concho. Mild seasons?
It's a little windy and chilly in the winter. Definitely four distinct seasons.
Mormons are ok as long as you don't get too involved. Do something stupid like go over for dinner and resist the advances of one of their 16 year old daughters that's trying to seduce you, and all of a sudden they think you're the Devil himself.
You're not kidding those younglings are sexbots, i also never understood how the heck most mormons are living like ballers with 7 kids,
must be a pool of money somewhere . I love northern AZ i think its fantastic i just got to work the seasons better. Id like to try north of Flagstaff from like Sept to the end of Oct. Seems i always end up in Utah during those months.

trouble with a boycott is the govt will pay them to survive with our money.....lets rethink this

How does the government get your money?
hollywood2020 ago
Fees, taxes, permits, licenses, VAT, social services, medicare, fines, excise, interest...........
toggafreggin ago
Exactly. Why would you voluntarily participate in activies that fund them? Have you not heard of gift economy and barter?
buffalo_fart ago
That only works in the rainbow family. And thats not even at 50 percent.

Yeah but i can imagine the ego shade in these communities is terrible.

Interesting. Im curious to see how this works in the higher altitude deserts of North America where i currently live.

Camp Verde is pretty chill. I used to basically live at that tiny patch of forest land on the river behind the grocery store. Good fishing back there.

Its a good town for sure. I hope it doesnt get overrun by all the fu fu faggots that ruined cottonwood.
toggafreggin ago
Fuckin zombie apocalypse in Cottonwood! I think all of the old people just cruise, like we used to do on Main St Smalltown, USA on weekend nights.

Concho and Snowflake are pretty cool if you can tolerate mormons.

They live like ballers because they're part of a community, which is another cool aspect of it, basically extended family nepotism.

Like a big big fraternity. Might be fun to have a few sister wives and my own planet to rule after death.

Part of me wishes I could believe in magic underwear. Utah is gorgeous too. I love it up there.

It is pretty but kind of pricey now. I spend most of my time in central utah now between bryce and i 70.
