So if the open string is an A tuned to 440 Hz, and you press down on the 12th fret which divides the string length perfectly in half to create an octave of 880 Hz, why wouldn’t the 12th fret still be in the halfway position when you change the open string to a dropped G or any other goddamn tuning on the face of the earth?
