I'm hip to oil. Oil is not a fossil fuel and its actually renewable. They say oil is non renewable for control. Oil is pretty much like the blood of the earth. You can extract it and it will replenish ... its like the human body does with blood, you just can't do too much too fast.
oil is basically fluids seeping down into the earth being compressed into its final product. it can overflow and be found sitting on the land for anyone to see. Actually how it used to be found in states like PA, biggest US deposits are under water though.
The Great Lakes is supposed to have the worlds largest deposits.
Atmospheric CO2, ocean water, continental plate subduction zones, heat+pressure. The ME happens to be one of the few triple plate boundary regions on the planet and somehow has fuckloads of oil.

Oil comes from ocean algae, animal carcasses and other organic waste deposited and compressed at the bottom of the ocean.

Why not just hydrocarbons and pressure, notice the ocean has lots of hydrogen.

The rock cylce - it gets push down and pushed to the surface later. Some Russian scientist had said this could produce oli.
With diamonds artificial scarcity creates wealth and power; probably the same.
