Having a kid at home is no big deal although listening to the scores of people (maybe some ARE correct)tell you "their baby would have died" gets tiresome
I know this is voat but you don't speak like you have much experience in the matter. One thing modern medicine DOES do (and does well) is keep alive babies that would never have made it. I am fortunate all our home births have been relatively smooth and we have an AWESOME midwife with experience around remote indigenous and Mennonite people but I don't want to judge someone harshly for using the hospital. Someone recently told me their midwife said most of the people who plan a home birth and end up in hospital do so because they seek pain meds...THAT is some fucking bullshit. My fat fuck sort of sister in law got FENTANYL during birth
I have trouble driving from one side of a small town to the other without a minimum of twenty mouthbreathing waterheads getting in my way. A baby that needs a hospital to survive will likely become another burden.
