I have 3 kids. The first one got a vitamin K shot or something when she was born but they didn't really ask us. They're going to assume that you want them and then just start jabbing away and it's at this point you need to intervene and tell them to fuck off.

im about to have a kid too, and that is one of my many concerns with having a child at a hospital.

id like to do an at home birth but i would still like to get checkups to make sure my kid will be alright. maybe its just my programming from my early days but i get worried about surprise medical issues, i dont want me or the kid to die during birth, but what are the chances of a young healthy lady having complications during birth? probably pretty low.

Well, if you're doing a homebirth then you're gonna have a midwife and the midwife is a trained medical professional that will be able to tell before you commence with the birth whether a homebirth is a viable option and the right choice. We didn't do any homebirthing but a couple of our friends did and I would consider it equally as, no actually, I would consider it safer then the hospital because doctors are actually pieces of shit when it comes to denying vaccines. They looked at us like we were crack smoking child abusers. If you want to do a homebirth then I would highly recommend it but if someone doesn't I would not recommend it - it's really just a thing that's not for everyone. If we have a 4th child there is a high possibility that it will be a homebirth. The benefits outweigh the risks and there is a always a contingency plan for any risks. Whether you choose to homebirth or not a good midwife is crucial and will help you make the best decision for you.
