And droplet sizes are bigger. You people are just dumb, at least try and help yourselves not die

blackguard19 ago

Lol we feel fine. Don’t think any of us are scared of a fake virus.

dampkitty ago

Nobody is calling you scared, we (as in the rest of the world) are just calling you dumb for not taking basic/free/zero-inconvenience precautions.

Too_The_Point ago

And we are calling you all non critical thinkers.

It's not free if you are purchasing your own masks.

It's not zero inconvenience when you can't go visit your family. Or go to work. Or make a living wage.

It's not called a basic precaution when there are no peer reviewed studies showing the efficacy of masks. It's called forced compliance.

In America, forced compliance is naturally resisted, and eventually met with violence. At this stage you are only seeing the natural resistance. Stand back and stand by if you think all Americans will be muzzled.

dampkitty ago

here's a dollar ( $1 ), go buy a 1,000 masks...

"In America, forced compliance is naturally resisted"

No, it's the same group of dummies who think seatbelts are oppressing them...

Too_The_Point ago

The seat belt analogy really doesn't make sense, a seat belt doesn't stop you from getting in to a crash.

In order for the analogy to work, the seatbelt would need to be the orange juice and extra sleep that makes you better after catching a cold.

A better analogy would be placing giant inflatable bubble around your car so that no one could hit you in the first place.

Sounds ridiculous doesn't it?

I trust a 1/10 penny plaster to keep dirt out of a cut. 99% of the time I'm going to be fine without one, but people have lost limbs to infections.

The analogy is fine, its a basic recognition of what the risks are and what is the cheapest/easiest thing I can do to mitigate them.

And to address your last point, yes cars have airbags too

Too_The_Point ago

Do airbags deploy before an accident? What kind of car do you drive? Cause I don't want to be in that car.

The analogy doesn't make any sense, but it's the one the left has grabbed on to.

Seatbelts don't stop accidents, they lessen the severity of human injury in an accident.

Masks are not being pushed to lessen the severity of a COVID infection.

It's apples to oranges. Clear as day.

dampkitty ago

You are re-framing the analogy, my point was that it is risk mitigation, not that it completely stops anything. Get a hazmat suit if you expect that

Yes they are used to reduce severity, the lower the viral load, the more chance the immune system can delay/stop this

Too_The_Point ago

Stop reframing the analogy?

My entire statement was pointing out how you were reframing the analogy. Wow.

Your analogy does not make sense, and you are using one safety measure(seatbelts) to push another(any form of face covering), which is completely unnecessary for 99% of the population.
