Could there be energy weapons that start fires? Sure. Is this proof? Come on... Why would they use an energy weapon to start fires when they can just do it the old fashion way... with gasoline and a match?

Because to move a fire at a rate of one football field per second is much more laborious and impossible using gas and matches.
