Are you able to trade your services for cryptocurrency?

Then you're not done yet.

wrathfulmomes ago

Crypto IS their new currency!

NSA created under a pseudonym, somehow is not just alive but thriving, and do you know what the blockchain is?

An obfuscated PUBLIC ledger of all transactions, ever. And guess who has the AI and computing power to unravel it and re-associate any data they want to?

They have EVERYTHING because these transactions run on THEIR networks! The entire internet, even the "dark net" or "deep web" runs on top of their internet backbones and servers!

Ddboomer ago

No, you don’t get it at all!! Crypto involves a computer and electricity. They can track you.

knightwarrior41 ago

Are you able to trade your services for cryptocurrency?

what if they ban or outlaw the use of crypto?

ilovejuices3 ago

How?

knightwarrior41 ago

just make it illegal (pass a law) and scan the internet with bots for those that use it i guess, i dunno

but if they created the internet they can also find ways to surveillance it or shut it down.

Dontpanic ago

You don't know what crypto is if you think it can be outlawed. It already is outlawed in many different places and that's where it's the most used.

Panic-Now1 ago

Name checks out.

prairie ago

You don't know what crypto is if you think it can be outlawed.

So build your own Internet? They'll just block it at the ISP level.

Dontpanic ago

You can send crypto by smoke signal if you wanted to. There are short wave radio setups that have been created for remote locations that don't have internet access. You don't need the internet.

prairie ago

I hadn't through of short wave. I wonder whether it has enough bandwidth.

ShineShooter ago

Btc blockchain is ~250GB and others are in the 100-50 range. That's built up over ten years...it doesn't use much data at all.

knightwarrior41 ago

You don't know what crypto is

i have a vague idea that is true

It already is outlawed in many different places and that's where it's the most used.

interesting, regardless, i dont think its going to play out the way some people think

Dontpanic ago

It's already not working out like people thought it would. Satoshi the guy who created Bitcoin thought people would use it to make transactions. That just didn't happen. Instead people use it as a store of value. So basically it's gold without the downsides.

prairie ago

So basically it's gold without the downsides.

LOL. It's gold without the gold.

knightwarrior41 ago

here we go,i wasnt aware of this,if this thing somehow collapses lots of people are going to lose their investments on it.again, i'm not well versed in crypto currency so i could be wrong

Dontpanic ago

Crypto isn't new. Bitcoin was created more than a decade ago. You can't stop math.

Samsquamch ago

Yeah it's a little naive to think crypto can't be banned. It's much harder to manipulate, that's true, but it relies on infrastructure to work. It's also not backed by anything physical and thus it's value rises and falls just like regular cash and credit.

Dontpanic ago

So what physical thing is the US Dollar backed by?

prairie ago

It pays the IRS off.

Samsquamch ago

It's also not backed by anything physical and thus it's value rises and falls just like regular CASH and credit.

It helps if you read the entire comment before responding.

Dontpanic ago

But that it rises and falls in value is a feature not a bug. Unless you're a communist you should understand that the value of a currency has to be able to adjust. The problem with the dollar is not that it goes up and down. The problem is that it can be manipulated to go up and down by a single entity. Crypto currencies can be created to inflate and to deflate or both. The difference is that this can't be manipulated by a lone entity like a central bank.

Samsquamch ago

Crypto manipulation was also addressed in my original comment:

It's much harder to manipulate, that's true

No point in saying anything else to you on this; you are overly defensive and you don't read / comprehend the replies you're getting anyways. Have a nice day.

Nuffin ago

Please explain

Dontpanic ago

The reason crypto currency was created is to replace cash(fiat currencies). Cash is good because you can hide it under your mattress and as long as you have it you can spend it. The bad part is that it's still being devalued while it's hiding under your mattress. Crypto Currency if done correctly is out of the control of the government. In places like Venezuela it's already banned but there people use it instead of the Bolivar because the Bolivar keeps falling in value.

Then organized crime outfits take over and create a system of appointments and books to organize people's labor for each other as a system of IOUs and product trade to which they make hefty profits of objects and forced labor because people will be afraid of being blacklisted from their system and it becomes a human rights crisis while simultaneously inflating the cashless dollar to a valueless state that finally the people will rise up and execute not just the politicians responsible for the cashless society and cryptocurrency bans, but they'll execute their families, their friends and anyone that ever mowed their lawn or cleaned their pool in exchange for being paid by credit card, too.

They won't ban cryptocurrency, ever, because "keep your enemies closer". The fear should always be that they accept it to regulate it. Which is why it's important to have cryptocurrency tech keep ahead of the curve and improve upon anonymous transactions.

knightwarrior41 ago

no you are dreaming a fantasy.nobody is going to execute anyone because they will have total unfettered control over the population.please educate yourself on north korea, china, venezuela and cuba for the answers

keep in mind that peoples in these dictatorships have mostly resigned to their fate.because their will have been broken by the lack of freedoms and even nutrition

tankingwrong ago

please educate yourself on north korea, china, venezuela and cuba for the answers

Please educate yourself that the US has 120 guns per citizen, and increasing.

None of the four countries you listed ever began first as Constitutional Republics and instead segued into Communism through totalitarian control that never respected the rights of their citizens in the first place.

knightwarrior41 ago

Please educate yourself that the US has 120 guns per citizen, and increasing.

let me ask you are they being used to defend themselves in portland or chicago?the obvious answer is A NO

also, how many people didnt gave up their guns during katrina in new orleans when the national guard went door to door? yes i rest my case.there's a reason why posse comittatus was rescinded by congress not too long ago
