Better question: When was the last time a "president" actually made the decisions? If they're mostly puppets to powerful interests, then does it matter who Biden is replaced by? Isn't it more important to know the groups and powers behind the candidate, rather than who the actual candidate is?
I guess lots of us believe that, actually. He’s just here to sign the right bills into law. The ones the lobbyists (or secret overlords) want. I was surprised that tulsi gabard was nowhere to be seen, but that’s the dems eating their young again.
Go watch "Rules for Rulers" to get a better idea how power works. But even that fails to outline how important it is hide the real power. I would wager that a few presidents have stepped out of line and disobeyed, but are then pulled back with blackmail, threat of family death, or something like that.
The common folk are kinda stuck. The best we can do is learn as much as possible to make it near impossible to be tyrannical to us. Make knowledge like guns.... distributed so that the population is unruly (not easily ruled). Problem is those who wield power (or desire to wield power) will never stop and they'll use whatever means possible to consolidate power, including convincing/tricking entire uneducated populations that the educated are the wealthy 1% and need to be robbed and killed.
Kinda makes you want to see the world experience a "Melancholia" (the movie).
