I have this feeling that they are storing the DNA from the samples and distributing them out to third party companies that develop bioweapons and tailor new viruses to affect certain sub-sects of the population, much like I figured 23 and Me was doing. This is just to get everyone that wasn't duped by them at the time to submit their essence now.
