Dude, FUCK these files.catbox.moe videos. There’s no way to tell if it’s a video or photo before opening it and it goes straight into the audio of the video. My wife has got pissed at me twice now because a loud ass video starts playing while she’s asleep.

There has got to be a better way. You should label your post as a video at least. Fuck!

If you hover over the + it will tell you what kind of file it is before you click on it. Otherwise, mute or use headphones.

This is a user-error, you can't blame me for that...

Yeah I should have turned the volume down first, now that I have been burned twice I will hopefully learn.

I am used to checking to see what type of a file it is first because I am usually downloading off of usenet and I have to throttle back to watch videos. I don't know what the site looks like on mobile but on PC it is easy for me to figure out what type of embed it is going to be before I click on it. If I find another video with loud audio maybe I will add a volume warning in title, I do try to be courteous.

In retrospect it is just funny. Keep in mind my original comment was written at 4 AM...

Couldn't sleep or what? You know the light from screens even in dark mode messes with your system.

Yeah my regular glasses have a little blue light protection built in but I do usually see a lot of screens during the day and lately I have no trouble falling asleep but instead wake up sometime in the very early morning for a while and, unwisely probably reach for the phone.

If my husband is sleeping, I usually play it safe and just don't open catbox links that don't have thumbnails. I miss out on stuff, but at least I'm not accidentally waking up my husband with loud German speeches or niggers being stupid.

I have to start remembering to turn the volume all the way down first just in case. But yes that scenario you just described has happened twice now and this morning it was at 4am.
