So if we give 'money' to voat we get to help the USSA with 'taxes'?
And the Patriot act protects us?
Voat was always just a step to the decentralized system and a good example to anyone of how that system will be attacked, it's just a matter of time.
All good. No conspiracy here. European laws are not as clear as US laws when it comes to freedom of speech. I suspect Icelandic laws would be better but I can't back it up. It's a lot easier to do business in the the industry if you have a US startup.
And where is this that we find a "nation of law"? It's all about degrees of law or better saying, degrees of lawlessness. There's injustice everywhere.

Aether is exactly that, but it is still a rough alpha build.

Time to setup a warrant canary.

All of us goats just went from the Reddit enclosure to the Voat enclosure. When does the T-Rex come for lunch?

They probably got confronted with the simple facts of life:
In all likelihood they already got to them and it is a very simple choice for them.

As confirmation of that, now watch as the DDoS miraculously evaporates.

I don't know why you guys got downvoted for people disagreeing with you. The DDOS blocker thing is gone now so you are in fact right it seems.

I don't like it, but ti's their ship to sail (and sink) as they see fit.

Seems like a logical step.

It was pretty self explanatory. I don't see any conspiracy here

Simple flaw in that logic. The US has not been a nation of laws (or at least not one which follows them) for quite some time now.
