serious question? i never talk on my phone just text so the cell phone is never very close to my brain i am assuming this is better then talking on the phone all the time?
I buy phones with the mentality that it will break, so buy cheap and replace it. I've got a point-and-shoot camera that takes solid shots anyway, and the camera is what drives the price up a lot.
The phone I had that lasted the shortest time was actually the most expensive, and it broke from the tiniest chip on a part of the screen that wasn't even illuminated. Entire touch display failed to operate. Looked into getting it fixed, it was $250 to replace a $350 phone. I bought a $50 phone instead lasted four times as long.
I stopped repairing phones around 2014-2015. Retards wanted their $1,000 phone fixed for $30.
Your case reminds me of when my iPod Touch decided to grenade itself. The screen failed directly in the center.
I broke down and bought a Oneplus 7 Pro before Christmas when they were on sale. Probably the last smartphone I will buy. After this one dies, I will either buy a dumb phone or not buy another one.

I despise people that carry phones in their back pocket. I have repaired enough phones from fat asses sitting on their phones.
