This is kind of random, but I immediately knew I had to share once I got the texts today. In short, my manager and co-workers were texting in our group chat basically praising flu shots and encouraging everyone to get one. Most of them are sick, so they're in panic mode, which is understandable. But then my manager says that our company is offering a $15 reimbursement if you get the flu shot. All of the talk was weird, but this part particularly struck me. Why would a retail chain offer something like this? Is it more common than I'm aware of? The whole situation just rubbed me the wrong way.

You live in a world of abject exploitation. If you can't be exploited TPTB don't give a shit if you and your family die in the streets. Better take this flu shot for you own good. Don't worry, it's free!
It's like a guy in a van offering candy to 12yo girls, but as adults we're expected to trust this same behavior.
