If you are up for some morbid shit, look up pictures of victims of electrocution and victims of lightning strikes. There is a matter of orders of magnitude difference between the two ("1.21 jiggawatts!").

I assume even a modestly-educated coroner can tell the difference as well using the host of other related differences.

Maybe you don't understand. The way it works is creating a path with the least resistance, ie ionizing the air via lasers, meaning you just have to point and concentrate them in a focused point, you don't have to wear it.
