Pretty much every major modem world event has been a "sign of the times" from some judaeo/Christian point of view, it's mostly just a game of interpretation though. They disagree from one meeting building to the next, let alone as a whole. The religious texts don't usually use dates and times in their prophecies, unfortunately.
