I have shared with people an experience I had on the morning of September 11, 2001 .. in my capacity as the Bolivia/Peru Country Specialist for Amnesty International-USA, was in Washington, D.C., traveling to the Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill, in order to attend the confirmation hearings for the Bush Administration’s new Drug Czar, which were scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM.

Sometime after 9:00 AM I boarded the Orange Line train, a young man and a young woman both in their early twenties and wearing backpacks burst into the subway car, shouting and exhibiting extreme excitement and agitation yelling..

"We were standing at the Pentagon Station waiting for the train to come and saw a missile fly into the Pentagon! We saw it, we saw it!” they reiterated the same information several times, saying repeatedly “a missile we saw it a missile flew right into the Pentagon .. now it’s on fire there’s smoke!”

They continued in this vein from the L’Enfante Plaza Station until I got off at the Capitol South exit, only later did I realize the significance of this event. David H. Edward, Professor of Anthropology, Salisbury University Maryland.

The first reports received by the DC Police said missile, in a report that has disappeared from the i'net a worker at LAX said he and the other employees were warned shortly after 4:00 am that a missile had hit the Pentagon.
