one other possibility (though it is grossly overshadowed by the droll and conspiracy false-flag response): people are scared to talk with the 8 chan murder.

I haven't heard a goddamn thing on any of this event--the "free speech" outlets seemed clogged

Ya everything has felt quite a bit toned down for a while and I do think it's due to a lot of fishy shit going on.
