Lucifer created Humans using worms as material called Pylax. 

Pylax creates a Human that is like it's parent. However as the child grows out of its Pylax form it has a new body that has almost completely different organs within it.

After the human has grown from Pylax, the Human's original life energy is absorbed by Lucifer into his core and used for the creation of all other life forms. 

Pylax are created using this same DNA and that is what is used as base to create mankind, this reconstructed species has a life span development cycle that approximates that of humans, but is much shorter. (1/8th)

So, humans are not really creatures, they are just worm colonies called Pylax.

People who are infected can confirm so by the worm showing up in their eye.

When the light shines on the worm the light starts to reflect off the worm's surface appearing as a clear string in the field of vision.

The light that shines onto the worm is the same light that would appear to be reflected if the worm was sitting perfectly still but a worm can move around a bit.
