He made the mistake many people have done in the past. Thinking he could win against Russia in 6 months. When winter comes Russia has the advantage. He wanted to defeat Russia quickly, so he would not have to fight a war on two fronts.
The Russians pulled out all the stops they even had female pilots that used WWII by planes (that have the ability to fly with a stalled engine to be quiet) compasses and maps that flew at night and were bloody accurate. They were called "Night Witches" (German: Nachthexen; Russian: Ночные ведьмы, Nochnye Vedmy) or the 588th Night Bomber Regiment,.
Charles XII of Sweden (Carolus Rex - Sabaton "song about him")
This seems like you're sliding going on about Russian female pilots...
How about addressing him letting the British go when he could have captured them? That obviously lost the war right there, as he knew it left the war open to two fronts instead of decisively defeating Britain. He literally just let them regroup to attack again, and I bet you're going to tell me this is because he loved Britain so much?? He loved Britain so much that he intentionally lost the Western Front?

Did not mean to slide, just used it in a context on how far Russia went to oppose Germany.
What battle was that, they did have POW''s in some of those camps ?
