if she was jewish why was she working at a nuke plant, very dangerous job, lot of radiation. she was poor, silkwood isn't a jewish surname. I think she was a good woman and contacting the new york times was her main mistake that got her killed.
I re-researched this just now, and admittedly the current information about Silkwood, aside from her photos where she looks Jewish, doesn't seem to support the idea she was. However when I initially researched this about twenty years ago online the information available then led me to conclude she was. It's possible her information has been whitewashed since then to align with "official history", or I might be wrong.
Yeah I suppose if the records on the internet were changed, doing these kind of internet searches is no good. We'd need hard evidence elsewhere. Not sure if it's worthwhile, this case is old and she's dead. Here is her mom's obit
her maiden name was Biggs, also not a jewish surname. Her name was Merle, kind of odd for a woman. I guess it is odd her parents, karens maternal grandparents then, were "Frank Biggs and Jimmie Jewel Meadows Biggs"
Is the woman's name Jimmie? Jimmie Jewel? Is there some kind of tradition to give cryptojew women men's names, like Obama's mom Stanley?
