Now to 3D print an attack helicopter.

Nuclear sub or B-52.

Think large or go home !

Nah... too many parts to be assembled. Start printing some bullets or some gold bars and exchange them for USD... that's how 3d printing works, right?

Just print another hitler

I think I'll start with printing and selling cookie cutters with somehow forbidden "shapes".

It would be more economical, durable, and less time consuming to just make them yourself out of sheet metal.

no, that's how cryptocurrency works

they have printers large enough to print a concrete house, you can print in several materials, and install sensitive components only afterwards. moving parts mark be printed in simple sections.

it's theoretically possible.

If you want to be realistic about making advanced components with a 3d printer, you'll need to buy an Ender 3 or similar printer for cheap, then build something akin to this 3D printed dremel CNC, and from there mill components out of aluminum block.

Once you have aluminum, perhaps it would be possible to replace the 3D printed parts and upgrade your dremel to a true CNC motor (possibly upgrade your 3-axis motors also) and you'd have a properly assembled CNC machine for very cheap.

Once you have your CNC that is capable of milling soft steels like stainless, the world becomes your oyster. From there you could make just about any significant firearm advanced component you desire, as well as other things.

NSA, please don't punish me for making this post. Thank you.

I've had this exact train of thought before. Anyone with some patience and ingenuity could use a simple printer/CNC mill to catapult themselves into high-end manufacturing over time with almost only the costs of materials.

Or buy a used mill and lathe, start learning metalwork... it is not that hard only takes some time.

Womb_Raider ago

You were seemingly arguing that 3d printing wasn't viable... so I wanted to provide another perspective based on my own experience. You could also easily purchase a lathe and mill but... isn't making something, or most of something, rewarding?

Theoretically you could get a metal printer and 3D print gold bars if it's capable of printing with gold. If you were into scrap gold metal harvesting or something like that. You could also 3D print ammo with a metal 3D printer as long as you have the design for it.

Anomalia ago

That's not how 3d metal printer work.

how are gonna print the fulmiate for the primers or the NG/NC smokeless powder tho.. besides, its easier to just pour your own bullets.
