The word conspiracy doesn't mean "false story" it means "hidden agenda".
Why does EEEEVERYONE use this word incorrectly? The usage of the word was NEVER the correct definition and even when I explain it to people in real life they can't seem to understand how they could be wrong. No dictionary even concurs with popular usage.
Your title should read 5 conspiracy theories that were confirmed.
I mean, it's the same thing. I get your taking issue with the constant misuse of the term but the difference between "turned out to be true" and "confirmed" is so trivial it's unremarkable.

A theory can indeed be true or false. Therefore it’s fine to say a conspiracy theory is true or false.
