Can anybody tell why and when people left Voat? (Conspiracy)

I was browsing subverses on Voat, and the picture of multiple abandoned subverses is pretty scary. It's like a horror movie, where you see a lot of interesting subverses that were suddenly abandoned in a hurry by owners and posters. I really can't understand why and how exactly the exodus happened. Can anybody tell why and when people left Voat?

They thought it was going to be reddit but with free speech so they swarmed here and set up subs that they could reign over like they do on reddit, but then they decided they liked traffic more than free speech and that people who liked free speech did not want mods to be gods so they went back to reddit where they belong.
