I came into the family in 2015, and it was as a refugee from reddit. Between clearly liberal agendas and algorithms, the only site-sponsored conservative board being T_D (which was full of immature memes and disinfo), the eventual demise of TRP (does it still exist there?), and the outright banning of Pizzagate, I simply had to get away from the propaganda. I would get by by trolling red pills, but I’d be downvoted to hell. The echo chamber and bans were too much.
At first, I didn’t think much of Voat. The Pizzagate study was pretty hot back then, but little else. Granted, I don’t post much, usually upvoat and commentary. But in a meta way, I knew that voat was a little off the radar. But how that has changed..
Shills still do their work, as they must, but it’s a lot harder here. The narrative is not so easily enforced. And the real beauty of it, that I cannot take for granted is that the powers that be are literally unable to wrest control here. Take the bannings as a badge of honor, I say. It means you’re doing God’s work, despite your filthy mouths.
The question, once we’re all in countries that ban this site, and we’re all forced to use VPNs, will we officially be criminals? Should we start taking the truth to the streets?
Time will tell, but for now, know that you are a thorn in the establishment’s side, and be glad.
