Simon Wiesenthal used to tell this joke. It’s funny, but hints at a darker truth.

Two Jews were sitting in a cafe after the war and reminiscing about the Holocaust. “What happened to Blau?” one asked. “Did he survive?” The second replied “Oh my God! Poor Blau! The Nazis gouged out his eyes. They cut off his nose. They chopped off his hands, sawed off his legs. But…sssshh, he’s just walked in.”
