Do you trust VPN companies? (Conspiracy)

Have you ever thought that VPN companies might be fake companies being owned by hell knows who, to give users a false sense of security and this way to better control the information about the user base?

Unless you open your vpn to other people you’d still be fucked. You can’t be anonymous if your the only user who also happen to be paying for it.

It provides a certain degree of privacy and security. At least with my VPN I can get traffic to hit the Internet off of my home connection. I can control that.

I might be misunderstanding you but why would I want to do that? I use a vpn to conceal my home ip.

What you say makes sense from a business/work sense, but not so much for being anonymous.

As for the data my vpn provider collects, it’s been tested in court not once, but twice so I’m not really worried about that. And they accept bitcoin so I can run it through a few mixers and not have a paper trail.
