I can see the issue of granular electrical usage data being capable of determining activity within the home. I cannot, however, agree that there's any health or safety risk in these devices. There's no evidence that RF, especially of the low levels involved here, can effect us biologically. I also question the method in which these devices can lead to house fires. They're not exactly rocket science.
