If the sun is to the astronauts right, why are we only seeing half of the earth? Also, why does the earth look as small as our moon from the same distance?

All I'm saying is they doctored this picture.

We don't know what it looks like from the Moon. It's 200,000 miles or so away and the Earth is about 7 times larger than the Moon. So I'm sure someone could figure out roughly how bit it would be but I image this wouldn't be far off the actual size.

I agree. Depending on the the earths place in orbit, i think it would look much bigger.

There's no video footage of the Earth from the Moon. If there was I think I'd be more inclined to believe whatever size of Earth was shown, as it stands with pictures we know at least one of them was doctored.

The sun is 93 million miles away from both the earth and the moon.

False, at times the moon is about 200000 miles one way or the other, even more so in the summer months of the southern hemisphere.
